Last school year, El Regato Ikastetxea launched its school mediation programme to help foster a positive, respectful and participatory school environment. Since then, we have continued to develop the initiative with the support of GEUZ, an organisation working alongside the school to help implement and develop the programme.
This Wednesday, we took another step forward by holding a training session for the families of students in Years 5 and 6 of Primary Education and Years 1 and 2 of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO), the year groups participating in the programme this school year.
The session was led by Lur, a trainer from GEUZ, and provided an opportunity to explore in greater depth how school mediation works, its objectives and how it is put into practice in the school's day-to-day life.

The training helped families gain a better understanding of this approach to promoting positive relationships, ask questions and learn how they can support the programme. Their involvement is important in strengthening cooperation between the school and families as they support students throughout this process.
At El Regato Ikastetxea, we believe that education for positive relationships involves learning to listen, communicate, understand different points of view and find constructive ways to resolve conflicts. That is why we continue working to make school mediation part of a school culture based on respect, participation and care for relationships.
Because learning to live together is also learning.
